Fractional CMO Retainer · 17 weeks
Senior leadership without a senior hire. With the discipline that survives after I leave.
A phased fractional CMO engagement for founders past Discovery. I bring the strategy and frameworks. Your team brings execution. Every week ends with a decision, not an opinion.
The advisory model
Strategy and frameworks from me. Execution from your team.
Most fractional CMO engagements blur the line between strategist and operator. This one doesn't. I write the strategy, design the frameworks, and run quality control on the work that ships.
Your team, an in-house marketer, a contractor, or the cofounder, owns execution. That's the only way the discipline outlasts the engagement. If the work depends on me to keep moving, you've bought a dependency. You're here to buy a system.
The shape
Three phases. Named deliverables. A gate at week six.
The retainer follows a Discovery Sprint by default, Discovery names the beachhead, this builds the spine around it.
Phase A · GTM Foundations
Weeks 1–3
- Channel strategy across three channels
- Positioning and messaging brief
- Landing-page copy
- A 5-email trial sequence
- Sales script and objection guide
- Brand-voice guide
- Executor briefing
Phase B · Execution
Weeks 4–6
- Weekly check-ins (six)
- Channel performance analysis
- Asset optimisation, landing page v2 + email sequence v2
- A go/no-go gate at week six
Phase C · Handoff
Weeks 7–10
- Performance synthesis report
- 2-page scale roadmap
- 5–10 page GTM playbook
- Exit meeting and capability handover
What I don't do
The clarity that comes from a defined scope.
- No campaign execution. No agency ops, no creative production, no media buying. Your team owns running the work.
- No tool setup or configuration. I specify what stack you need; your team builds it.
- No paid-ads management. Specific specialism, better delivered by a specialist agency or in-house operator.
- No white-labelled team. I lead each engagement myself. There is no junior agency staff behind the work.
Read first, decide later
The thinking behind this offer.

Ready to build the spine?
The retainer works best after a Discovery Sprint. If you've already done the discovery work elsewhere, we can pick up at Phase A.
